Synopsis:
People say the youngest child has it easy, but nothing can be further from the truth. Unlike my two sisters, Violet and Lily, I’m never in the limelight. I just work my butt off for Fleur Cosmetics and get little to no thanks for it. I’ve been pushed too far one too many times, and I’m finally brave enough to do something about it.
Maybe my newfound courage has something to do with the amazing pink and white diamond necklace I wear to the party in Cannes. The instant those dazzling heirloom jewels touch my skin, they excite some deep, aching need inside. And when that guy—that totally gorgeous guy—locks eyes with me, I know this nice girl is going to be naughty.
For once it’s my turn. My turn to say no to my father, to outshine my sisters, to walk away from it all—straight into the arms of a mysterious stranger. But what if Caden is much more than I bargained for? Sure, he makes me feel sexy and free in a way I never have before, but there’s something else I can’t quite place—something dangerous. Maybe our “chance” meeting wasn’t so random. Maybe he was looking for me for a reason. Whatever his motive, there’s no going back now.
And maybe I don’t want to.

My Thoughts:
“You taught me how appreciate life and appreciate a woman who wants nothing more than to take care of me.”
After reading Owning Violet, I was looking forward to reading Stealing Rose and was excited to get an ARC from NetGalley. Unfortunately, I felt like I kid on Christmas morning that got a Gobot instead of a Transformer. (Points for you if you know the difference between the two.)
What frustrated me about Rose is that she wanted to stand up to her family and give them the proverbial middle finger for overlooking all her hard work at the family company and all she really does is dress a bit racy at a public function and run off to London. (Some would just say she was changing her style and taking some time off.)
I also had trouble feeling the passion and connection between Rose and Caden, at some points during the story it felt a little forced and I found it believable that they were a couple. Again, it is probably because I am comparing their story to Violet and Ryder’s story – which I felt had more passion and sexual tension.
One of the things I appreciated in the story is that we see growth in Rose’s character throughout the story on how she deals with the struggles with her family, work, and her sisters. I also appreciate the growth we see in Caden as well, and changing his ways for genuine reasons.
I think because I compared Rose’s story to Violet’s story I was left wanting more in Rose’s story, like what I got in Violet’s story. I believe if I had read Stealing Rose on it’s own, I would have a different appreciation for the story. Overall, the story was good and I enjoyed Ms. Murphy’s writing style, and I am looking forward to Lilly’s Story.
