             Synopsis:
The last thing Daniel, a hard-working public defender, expected to see the morning after a one night stand was his hook-up staring back at him from the wrong side of the law. Assigned to work his case, Daniel vows to keep things professional with Rafael but has a hard time controlling his craving for dominance, the control, and the connection they shared. Rafael, a paid Dominant in the Chicago underworld, has been dealing with a cop problem for far too long. Used to sex with no emotion, he’s entranced with Daniel’s submission, his innocence, and…could there be something more? Can Daniel clear Rafael's name, keeping him out of jail and in his life, with the odds, a cop, and the mounting evidence against them?

My Thoughts:

“The connection was undeniable, and he never felt this way with anyone else.”

Holy hotness – this book almost set my Kindle on fire!  Ladies, this is not your mother’s typical romance as it has two hot guys in a BDSM relationship.   Granted, it isn’t typical dirty bird romance either (Don’t get scared – just hear me out!).

While there were some hot scenes between Rafael and Daniel (and I mean HOT!), there are two key elements that made this story intriguing and to warrant the rating I gave it.   First, there were the comedic elements that kept the story fun while still being sexy.  (The banter alone between Rafael and Jesse and Jesse and Daniel made the story.) Second, the story was not solely based around the BDSM relationship between Rafael and Daniel.  Their relationship was just an element to an overarching story that kept me engaged throughout the whole book. It was well written story with some hot scenes, which you are finding less and less in this genre.  So many stories these days have some hot scenes, but the story that ties the scenes together falls flat.  Kudos to Mr. Gray for knowing how to write a great story with some hot scenes.

If I had to give criticism about the book was the lack of trust I felt between Rafael and Daniel.  Great sex can only get you so far in a relationship, especially a BDSM relationship where trust is key.  My only hope is that those trust issues that I felt between these two get resolved in other books in the series.

I freely admit I read this book in one sitting and when I finished this book I was like an addict needing her next fix.  Yes, I binged read the rest of the books in the series and I am not ashamed to admit it.  Check back over the next week as I will be reviewing Breach of Contract and Damages Incurred.

If you are looking for a hot romance between two men with great one-liners – than this book is for you.

  1. this is the first time I am hearing about this - and I am intrigued. I love that you mentioned it's not just about their BDSM relationship. SOLD :) Great review!
