             Synopsis:
Gray Ridge, Colorado is a quiet town, but this Halloween there's a mating moon, and the shifters' need to breed their fated mates runs strong.
Ruby is the proud owner of Red's Goodie Basket, and as the new girl in town, she's looking for business. But when the local sexy sheriff, Dominic Wolfe, keeps the customers away, she finds it's hard to stay mad when burning with desire.

Dominic is a shifter, and his wolf wants Ruby. Since the second he laid eyes on her, he's been fighting the need to mark her as his. But when the mating moon is full, he won't be able to control his wolf any longer.

Tricks and treats are the last things on his mind when the mating heat takes over, and his obsession is put to the test.

My Thoughts:

"They taste delicious. I added a hint of pumpkin spice. Bitches love pumpkin spice."
Let me first start by saying I love the Ms. Riley freely admits her books are quick, dirty, and over the top. Her books are my go to books when I am looking for something like that. (I may or may not have binged read almost all of her books in one day while I was on vacation.) With fall here and Halloween fast approaching, I loved that Ms. Riley wrote us some Halloween stories and could not wait to dive into this story.

I usually don’t read paranormal/shifter romance so this story took some time for me to adjust to, and it thankfully did not take away from the story for me. Ms. Riley did an excellent job retelling of the classic fairytale, and making the story her own and adding her “Alexa Riley flair” to it. So many retelling I have read have done a literal translation of the story, so I enjoyed that Ms. Riley mixed it up a bit with her retelling.

My only complaint about this story is how Dominic refers to his wolf side – treating it like it is another person. Granted, this may be common in shifter romances, but it felt a bit disconnected to me. (Next time I read a shifter romance, I should follow up and figure out what the protocol is for a shifter referring to his/her other form.)

If you are looking for a Halloween story that is quick, dirty, and over the top – than this book is for you.
