Synopsis:
Introverted computer engineer Charlie Forrester has coded an algorithm for love, a nearly flawless matchmaking program. But then she's challenged to prove its accuracy - on herself. With her dream job on the line, Charlie has thirty days to forge a romantic relationship with her "perfect" match...her ex-friend and now-nemesis, Daniel Shawn. Since her dating experience is expressed in binary, she'll need more than flirting lessons and a wardrobe overhaul to pull it off.
After falling victim to the same online matchmaking con he was investigating, reporter Daniel Shawn's professional reputation went up in flames. Now he suspects someone has rebooted the scam, and he's determined to expose the fraud and rebuild his career. Unfortunately, his efforts to get back in the game get sidetracked by Charlie and her adorable geekitude, even though she seems to know a little too much about digital dating for Daniel's comfort.
And when fake romance crosses into real chemistry, Charlie's formula for love might just be the perfect formula for disaster...

My Thoughts:
“So tell me Mr. Tall, Dark, and Devastating, what’s a bad boy like you doing in a place like this?”
Lost in Geeklandia is your typical girl meets boy story – with a twist. Charlie is out to prove that her theory on matching couple based on their online presence. While the premise of the story drew me in, there were some areas that fell flat for me.
First, all the geek/nerd references – way over the top. I get that we needed to understand how super nerdy Charlie and her friends are however it was too much and found rolling my eyes many times. (If I had played the drinking game where I took a shot for every geek reference, I would have been passed out by chapter five.)
Second – I wish there was more growth in Charlie and Daniel, individually and as a couple. Both had their issues in the beginning and while they overcome them – it did not seem natural. Granted, Charlie was forced to prove her theory worked, it did not seem genuine that she liked being Charlie 2.0. For Daniel, I just wanted to yell “GET OVER IT!!!” He is still carrying around a chip on his shoulder and it affected him way too much in his professional and personal life. It wasn’t until the end where he let go some of his issues, but my hope was this would have happened sooner in the story.
I do love that this was a unique story and not your typical love story. You don’t see many romance novels out there where one or both of the main characters are bit of a geek/nerd. I applaud Ms. Russell for breaking the mold and giving us a story where our heroine is a computer nerd. My hope is that her next novel features the hero as the geek, because we need more geeks, less alpha male romance stories.
If your are looking for a sweet geeky love story and can stand the over the top geek references - then this book is for you.
