Synopsis:
One week.
Private beach.
Invisible girl.
Jerk-faced bully.
What’s the worst that could happen?
Kaitlyn Parker has no problem being the invisible girl, which is why she finds herself hiding in various cabinets and closets all over her college campus. Despite her best efforts, she can’t escape the notice of Martin Sandeke—bad boy, jerkface bully, and the universe’s hottest, wealthiest, and most unobtainable bachelor—who also happens to be Kaitlyn’s chemistry lab partner.
Kaitlyn might be the only girl who isn’t interested in exploiting his stunning rower’s build, chiseled features, and family's billionaire fortune. Kaitlyn wants Martin for his brain, specifically to tabulate findings of trace elements in surface water.
When Kaitlyn saves Martin from a nefarious plot, Martin uses the opportunity to push Kaitlyn out of her comfort zone: spring break, one week, house parties, bathing suits, and suntan lotion. Can she overcome her aversion to being noticed? Will he be able grow beyond his self-centered nature? Or, despite their obvious chemistry, will Martin be the one to drive Kaitlyn into the science cabinet of obscurity for good?

My Thoughts:
“Martin Sandeke looked uncomfortable and it was because was out of his depth, specifically, he was out of his nerd depth, and being out of his depth looked adorable on Martin.”
I am first to admit; I am not a big fan of new adult, but after reading the synopsis and hearing rave reviews of Ms. Reid’s other books I decided to give the book a try and I am so glad I did! (Never judge a book by it’s cover or it’s genre!)
While I seem to have a theme when it comes to the romance novels I read (boy chases girl) this one is different and set’s itself apart from other romance stories I have read. Katy is a strong, sassy, nerdy girl and what I love is that she is happy with who she is and is not going to change for anyone – especially Martin. I laughed so many times when Martin is trying to convince Katy they should date and she uses “scientific evidence” to prove why they should not be together.
My favorite part of this story is not between Martin and Katy – but between Katy and Ray (Martin’s friend). I don’t want to spoil the story for anyone – but what he tells Katy is something every woman needs to hear.
While this book ends on cliffhanger, readers don’t have to wait too long as the second book, Heat is out on April 30th.
If you are looking for some nerdy science talk with your romance story – this book is for you.
