Synopsis:
Bondage meets bookworm in this sizzling erotic romance about a shy bookshop owner who discovers an exciting new side to herself when an old friend opens a bondage workshop in the back of her store!
Emma Green has never been very confident. When Ian Cooper, an old friend, asks to rent out the back room of her bookstore for a bondage workshop, she agrees because she needs the money. She isn’t expecting to participate, and she definitely isn’t expecting to enjoy it. But all of Emma’s expectations fly out the window when she tentatively agrees to be Ian’s bondage model for workshops and exhibitions—and her success in the role upends all previous notions she had about her body and her desirability.
Now, Emma must learn to reconcile these conflicting images of herself while dealing with another conflict: Is Ian just another playboy, or everything she’s been looking for?

My Thoughts:
“The cord had left slight red marks where she’d pulled against it, and Ian kissed the tender skin. “I like it.” She traced the lines. “Reminds me of tonight.””
When I read the synopsis for this book, I was excited to read a fresh view on BDSM between a bookworm and a numbers nerd. So many BDSM books these days focus on the whole kit and caboodle of BDSM, with not much knowledge about the lifestyle. The fact that Ms. Winters story only focused on rope play and the specific details in the story tells me she did her research. As a reader, I appreciate this – THANK YOU Ms. Winters.
The story was well written and well paced and what I enjoyed most was the lead up to some of the passionate scenes between Emma and Ian. How Ms. Winters sets the scene was well done and it felt natural between Emma and Ian. Let me tell you chemistry between Emma and Ian was off the charts, even the scenes that did not involve sex.
If I had to pick one thing that I did not love about the story it would be the miscommunication between Emma and Ian in regards to their relationship. Emma and Ian do so well communicating with each other during their rope play, you would think that it would translate into their relationship, but it doesn’t. I wished the pivotal moment in the story was not based on miscommunication but on something else since communication and trust is key in a BDSM relationship.
If you like a little kink with your romance story but not ready to take the plunge into a full BDSM story – this book is for you.
